Every kind of extra
Wides and no balls with runs on top, byes and leg byes kept off the bowler's figures, and penalty runs. Free hits are tracked automatically and only a run out can be recorded off one.
All eleven ways out
Bowled through to obstructing the field, with the fielder credited and the bowler's wicket column only crediting those that are actually his.
Cards that add up
Strike rates, economy, maidens, fall of wickets, partnerships and runs per over. Every figure is recomputed from the deliveries, so nothing can drift out of step.
Our rules, not somebody else's
Ten overs or twenty, however many a side turned up, runs for a wide, and overs per bowler — all set per match. Shorten an innings mid-match when the weather turns.
Keep it on your home screen
On an iPhone, open the scorer in Safari and choose Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, use Install app from the browser menu. It then launches like any other app, with no address bar eating the top of the screen, and the scoring pad sits where your thumb already is.
Matches, squads and the ball-by-ball record live in that phone’s own storage. Whoever is scoring keeps the match on their handset, so hand the phone on rather than the scorebook.
Before the first ball
- 1. Name both sides and add the players who turned up.
- 2. Set the overs — ten or twenty — and how many a side.
- 3. Record the toss and who chose to bat.
- 4. Pick the two openers and the bowler, and start.
The squads you name are remembered, so the second week is four taps rather than twenty-two names. Got it wrong? Undo steps back a ball at a time, as far as you need.
New to the Tigers?
We play at Thomas P. Quinn Park in Mason, most Saturday or Sunday mornings at 8:30 through the season. Hard tennis ball, so no pads and no kit bag, and everybody gets a bat however they hold it. Ask in the Facebook group to be added to the Messenger group where each weekend is arranged.
